What is the Aditya Birla Scholarship?
To provide an exceptional opportunity to intellectual students, the Aditya Birla Group has started to award the Aditya Birla Scholarship to the students. This scholarship started in 1999 and since then every year panel of judges scrutinize the application of students every year and finalises the candidates for the scholarship.
The Group is promoting Mr Aditya Vikram Birla’s vision of developing leaders with a passion for excellence through the Aditya Birla Scholarship Program. Achieved through the support of excellent educational quality and compassionate leadership values in collaboration with several IITs, BITS (Pilani), IIMs, XLRI, FMS, and law campuses.
The Aditya Birla Scholarship covers a significant portion of academic and tuition fees. It also covers the hostel fees. The scholarship amount for IIMs (Indian Institute of Management) and XLRI ( Xavier School of Management ) is about Rs 1,75,000/- per annum. And for IIT and BITS Pilani it is Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum. The scholarship for a law student is Rs. 1,80,000/- per annum or the institute’s fee whichever is lower.
The selection procedure of the board for the Aditya Birla Scholarship is very rigorous. The students who are among the top 20 in college by the ranking of the entrance exams are only invited to apply for the scholarship. The applicant has to apply through the Dean of the respective institutes.
The students have been assessed on their overall academic achievements and curricular excellence. The student will have to write an essay on the topic given by the selectors. Which will be reviewed by the panel thoroughly and the shortlisted student will be called for the interview.
The panel will select the best 16 students from engineering, 16 students from management, and 15 students from law. All the selected students will be named Aditya Birla Scholars.
The performance of Aditya Birla Scholars will be assessed annually on certain parameters which will help to determine the continuation of the scholarship award.
What is the Eligibility of the Aditya Birla Scholarship?
Students from the following institutes are eligible to apply for the Aditya Birla Scholarship.
Management students who are from IIMs ( Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode, Shilong ) and XLRI Jamshedpur ( Xavior Institute of Management ) can apply for this scholarship. The students of IIMs and XLRI would have given the entrance exam CAT and XAT respectively. The students who are in the top 20 according to the ranking of the entrance exam in each institute will only be eligible to apply to the Aditya Birla Scholarship.
Engineering students who are from IITs ( Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee, Guwahati) and BITS Pilani are only eligible to apply for this scholarship. The student of IIT and BITS Pilani would have appeared in the JEE ADVANCED and BITSAT respectively for their selection to the institute. The top 20 students in each institute according to the JEE ADVANCED and BITSAT can apply for the Aditya Birla Scholarship.
The Law student from the National Law School of India University Bangalore, NALSAR University of Law Hyderabad, The WB National University of Juridical Science Kolkata, National Law University Jodhpur and Gujarat National Law University are eligible to apply for the Aditya Birla Scholarship. To take admission to the above-mentioned institutes, candidates would have to appear in the CLAT entrance exam. The top 20 students in each law institute according to the ranking of the CLAT exam will only be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
There is no barrier of Family Income criteria, the talented students from any income group can apply for the scholarship.
How to Apply for the Aditya Birla Scholarship?
If you have checked the eligibility and find that you are eligible to apply for the Aditya Birla Scholarship then you will have to fill out the Aditya Birla Scholarship Application Form which you will get in the respected institute’s Dean’s office, as Aditya Birla Group has already tied up with these institutes for scholarship and then submit it to the Dean of the Institute.
