BITSAT stands for Birla Institute of Technology & Science Admission Test. This is an entrance exam for the candidates who want admission to BITS college. If you want to know the complete details about BITSAT go through this page.

What is BITSAT?

GraduationBITSAT is an online computer-based test conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology. This exam is conducted for those candidates who aspire to take their degree from BITS college. BITS colleges come under the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani University. This is unique and University of International standards. This University is popular by the name BITS, Pilani.

After getting a successful ranking in the BITSAT exam, a candidate can apply for the B.E or B.Pharm degree at its BITS campus. There are 3 campuses of Birla Institute which are as follows :

  1. BITS Pilani – Pilani Campus in Rajasthan.
  2. BITS Pilani – K. K Birla Goa Campus. (BITS GOA)
  3. BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus. (BITS HYDERABAD)

Pilani Campus offers a B.E degree course in Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, and Manufacturing. This Campus also offers the B.Pham degree course.

K.K Birla Bits Goa Campus only offers a B.E Degree course in Chemical, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation and Mechanical. 

BITS Hyderabad Campus offers a B.E degree in Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation and Mechanical. Hyderabad campus also offers a degree course in B.Pharm.

Birla Institute of Technology have a high standard of Education and have relations with other International University. Placement is also good. It has been said that the average package BITS candidate gets is 20 lakh per annum. That’s why many candidates prepare and appear in the BITSAT exam every year.

BITSAT Exam Eligibility :

Online learning cuate e1661444404865A candidate should have passed the 12th examination in the last two years not more than that or have appeared in the 12th exam in the current year. This exam offers two courses B.E and B.Pharm.

If a candidate is applying for engineering then he/she has to take a mathematics subject in this exam and should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths in 12th with a minimum of 60% marks in each subject.

If a candidate is applying for a pharmacy course he/she has to take a Biology subject in BITSAT and should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 12th with a minimum of 60% marks in each subject.

If a candidate is appearing in the 12th exam and waiting for the results, admission will be purely on the fulfilment of the minimum requirement of marks.

The candidate who has obtained the highest rank in their respective board in the 12th exam will get direct admission to BITS college irrespective of their BITSAT score.

How to Apply for the BITSAT exam?

The candidates who want to appear for this exam have to register themself online on the BITSAT admission website. While registering candidates have to fill in all the required information correctly. 

Candidates can choose if they want to appear once or twice for the exam. The highest marks will be considered for the BITSAT score.

Candidate have to choose the city for the test, there are about more than 60 cities for the exam.

Candidates have to pay fees by online method. 

BITSAT exam dates :

Every year BITS published an advertisement for its entrance exam. One can get the details from their website.

Generally, the application for BITSAT starts from the mid march and the window to apply is kept open for about 2 months.

The first BITSAT exam is held in July and the second BITSAT exam is mostly held within a month.

The result and Waitlist are announced in September.

BITSAT Syllabus :

Mathematics broThis BITSAT syllabus is divided into 4 parts as follows:

  1. Physics
  2. Chemistry 
  3. English Proficiency & Logical Reasoning
  4. Mathematics OR Biology

Each question carries 3 marks for correct answers and a negative 1 mark for wrong answers. The total time given to solve the test is 3 hours.

The questions are asked on the basis of the NCERT syllabus for class 11th and 12th. The candidates can refer to the NCERT textbook for the contents.

In the English Proficiency test  questions about grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension have been asked and the level of questions is 12th standard candidate can answer those questions

In logical reasoning questions from Analogy, Classification, Series Completion, Logical deduction, Chart Logic, Pattern perception, Figure Formation and Analysis, Paper Cutting, Figure Matrix, Rule Detection. The candidates who registered themselves successfully for the BITSAT exam can also give the sample test which is made available on the BITSAT website so that they can practise it before appearing on the original test. The BITSAT syllabus is very much similar to JEE Mains one can prepare for both exams simultaneously.
