Who can Apply for IBPS PO Post ?

Nationality :

A candidate who is applying for the IBPS PO exam must be either a Citizen of India or a Subject of Nepal or a Subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India with intention to permanently settling in India. 

Age :

The Age criteria of a candidates who wants to apply to the IBPS SO exam is minimum age 20 years and maximum age is 30 years. Their is an upper age limit relaxation for certain category candidates as follows.

5 Year age relaxation – SC and ST candidates.

3 Year age relaxation – OBC (Non creamy layer) candidates.

10 Years age relaxation – Person with Benchmark disabilities.

5 Years age relaxation – Ex Service men.

5 Year age relaxation – Person affected by 1984 riots. 

Education Qualification :

A Graduation Degree in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.

How to Apply IBPS PO Exam?

IBPS POThe only way to apply to IBPS PO exam is the online mode. A candidate have to visit the IBPS website. In Home page candidate will have click “CRP-Probationary Officer” link. Then candidate will have to registered themselves on clicking the New Registration Tab. Here Candidate will have to fill all the basic information in an online application form. After the submission of the details IBPS will give you provisional registration number and password. The registration number and password will be needed by the candidate for the login in IBPS website. Further Candidates will require to upload photo, signature, Left thumb impression and Hand written declaration.

After the completion of Registration candidate will have to make the payment by online mode. Candidate can make a payment by using Debit Cards(Rupay/Visa/Master Card/Maestro), Credit Cards or Internet Banking, IMPS or UPI.

When IBPS Conducts IBPS PO Exam?

Every year IBPS issued a schedule of various exams. According to the past years of schedule we assume that IBPS publish the Probationary Officer Exam every year for the overall consolidated Indian Public Sector Bank. Beside this exam some times IBPS comes with recruitment in specialised Bank separately. In both the cases the Scheme and Syllabus of Exam is Same.

According to the Schedule which has given by IBPS, the tentative dates of Preliminary Exam of IBPS PO is 15 Oct 2022 to 22 Oct 2022 and the main Examination will be on 26 Nov 2022. The tentative date of result will be 01 Apr 2023.

Syllabus of IBPS PO Exam :

The Exam Pattern of IBPS PO is design in 3 stages as follows

  1. IBPS PO Preliminary Exam
  2. IBPS PO Mains Exam
  3. Interview

A candidate when successfully pass the preliminary exam can appear for IBPS PO Mains exam and similarly when candidate successfully clears the Mains exam he/she can appear for Interview. When Candidate clears all 3 stages He/She will be selected as a Probationary Officer in Public Sector Bank.

The Syllabus of IBPS PO Preliminary Exam is as follows:

IBPS PO Preliminary exam  A participant has to qualify in each subject with securing minimum marks which is decided by the IBPS. Each subject has a different time slot for solving answers of that particular subject for example : English Language subject test have 30 questions which has maximum of 30 marks and time allotted to answer this 30 questions is 20 min.  

The Syllabus for IBPS PO Mains Exam is as follows :

The IBPS PO Mains has Objective as well as Writing part.

Objective paper is of 200 marks with 155 questions and Writing part consist of English language Letter writing and Essay writing. Writing part gets 30 min to answers the questions.

The toughness of questions in IBPS PO Mains exam is higher than IBPS PO Preliminary Exam.

There is penalty for wrong answers in both exam preliminary as well as mains exam. Every wrong answer will deduct your marks by 1/4 marks assign to that question. For example if question has 1 mark and candidate has given wrong answer, then 0.25 marks will be deducted from total marks of that candidate.

The 3rd and last stage of IBPS PO exam is Interview. When a candidate successfully clears the Mains exam he/she is called for the Interview and Document verification. In IBPS PO Interview, interviewer asks about banking related questions and check the confidence of the candidates.

While preparing for IBPO PO exam can also prepare for IBPS SO and IBPS clerk exam as syllabus for all these exam are nearly same.
